"Dr. Della" - Dr. Adella Gerry, BSc, ND
Dr. Adella Gerry, ND (Dr. Della) has been passionate about the power of nature and natural healing from a very young age. She is open and personable and takes great care to listen and understand her patients’ unique situations. Dr. Della’s patients often comment on her calming and grounding influence. Included in her vast skill set is a powerful ability to provide pain management for anyone from athletes to expecting mothers, to those with neurodegenerative conditions. Dr. Della has a passion for woman’s health and has additional training to treat fertility issues, menstrual disorders, menopause, hormonal therapy, and help relieve pregnancy ailments. She has a special interest in Sports Medicine, to help athletes optimize performance and decrease recovery time. She enjoys providing medical care for participants at major sporting events and music festivals throughout BC.
Dr. Della, ND is an active member in the community and enjoys working with other types of healthcare professionals. She has been involved with RockDoc Inc since early 2013 providing emergency event medicine with a multi-disciplinary team in BC to participants of major festivals, sporting events, concerts, and marathons. Dr. Della worked with the pageant Miss World Canada to provide education to the delegates in order to help them with their competitions, but also to provide them with long-term lifestyle changes. In her second year of medical school, Dr. Della co-founded the Gaia Doula Collective to provide birth coaching to low-income families in the lower mainland and tri-cities, but it is now run by current students at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM - Boucher Campus). At Boucher Dr. Della participated in many areas, ranging from serving as the Secretary for the student association for over two years, to providing emotional support for students as a part of the Wellness Group, to helping to select which applicants would be accepted to join the community. Dr. Della emphasizes the importance of working with other healthcare professionals and tries to foster relationships with people of all disciplines as a result.
Dr. Della, ND obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria in 2011, majoring in both Biology and Psychology and graduated in 2015 as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Boucher in New Westminster. Dr. Della’s extensive training gives her the expertise to investigate your symptoms and treat the root causes of illness through patient education, nutrition counselling, lifestyle modifications, and applying one or many of her treatments methods of - botanical medicine, Traditional Asian Medicines, acupuncture, homeopathy, pharmacology, injectable therapies, and physical therapies. Dr. Della has practiced in both Vancouver and Salt Spring Island. However, Victoria is her hometown and she is happy to be practicing in the thriving clinic of Pearl Healthcare. You can expect personalized, discrete, and thorough care from her.
Family is of the utmost importance to Dr. Della, ND. She is often on the Coast Islands, in Washington state, or in Northern BC spending time with her brothers, parents, and extended family. She enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, archery, fishing, and boating when she is not busy in her practice, performing talks, or doing continuing education.
